The Crowdfunding venue has become a very popular option for many inventors and entrepreneurs, one that has offered participants financial support unavailable through other avenues. Join IACT members on August 25th to learn how to effectively approach and leverage this medium from a successful Crowdfunding veteran .The presentation will focus on how to get organized as an inventor which entails seven basic steps to get your idea out of your head and onto a store shelf. The discussion will address key questions such as “ Is licensing right for you?”, “ Is Crowdfunding right for you to raise capital? As a gateway to licensing? As both?

Michael Carpanzano is a local business owner, inventor, and entrepreneur.  Last year, while finishing his MBA at WCSU, he created a business plan for his invention, nuplug.  His nuplug plan won him a first place award at the CT business model competition in 2012, and another First Place Award at a national business competition in 2013.  The competitions served as a preamble to a successful crowdfunding campaign which ran last year as well.  He raised over $85K in pre-sales capital for nuplug, and has since partnered with a licensee for further development and commercialization.
